How to insert Alternate Rows and Columns Quickly in Excel



                   Most of us may face the problem in Excel that we need to insert a blank row between each of the existing rows, and all of us know how to insert a blank row manually. But inserting hundreds of blank rows will be a tedious task if you insert each row individually. 

 

Inserting Alternate Rows between the Data using Sort Option

 

Insert the Serial numbers in the helper column adjacent to the data, copy the same number just below the same the set of number as shown in the below image.

Click on the Sort Option in the Data Tab and select the sort by option and select the helper column and order should be smallest to largest and click ok

Now we can see the alternate Rows are inserted between the data.



Inserting Alternate Columns between the Data using Sort Option

Insert the Serial numbers in the Above row  of the data, copy the same number as shown in the image

Click on the Sort Option in the Data Tab and select the options and select Sort by Left to Right option sort by option and select the Row number where type the number and order should be smallest to largest and click ok

Now we can see the alternate Columns are inserted between the data.
